Art isn’t just what ends up on the canvas, it’s the thousand tiny decisions (and mistakes) made along the way. This category is where I share the mess, magic, and meaning behind the work. It’s less about showing off finished pieces and more about pulling back the curtain on how they came to be.

Here, you'll find stories of what worked, what didn’t, and what I learned by just showing up and doing the thing. I talk about everything from sketching techniques to color palettes, how I decide what to paint, why I abandon some projects halfway through, and how certain pieces surprise me. Sometimes I’ll ramble about materials. Other times, I’ll wonder why a certain painting feels like it fought back.

This isn’t a tutorial space, though you might pick up ideas or inspiration. It’s more like a notebook with dirt smudges and paint fingerprints, a space where I unpack the mental, emotional, and creative gymnastics behind making honest art.

Whether I’m carving a log, painting a portrait, or experimenting with new styles, the goal is the same: stay curious, stay honest, and stay in love with the process, even when it gets ugly. Especially when it gets ugly.

So if you’re an artist, a creative wanderer, or just someone who likes to see how the sausage gets made (artistically speaking), this corner of the site is for you.
